THE CREATOR
My name is Claire Byrnes and I'm a high school senior at Science Leadership Academy (SLA), born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. I create videos and take photos in my Digital Video class.
I play viola in the Musicopia String Orchestra and the All City High School Orchestra. I run with Students Run Philly Style and am involved in my school’s art and literature magazine and Book Club.
THE PROJECT
SLA is a project-based public school in Philadelphia. Our core values of inquiry, research, collaboration, presentation, and reflection are emphasized in all of our classes.
The Capstone project is the culmination of SLA's mission. Allowing students to create independent projects gives us the opportunity to follow our passions and interests. SLA's Capstone is one of the defining moments of our high school careers since it encompasses schoolwork but also involvement in the community.
